One Year Old!!

Well, Will actually turned one a week ago but I think I have been in a little bit of denial which is why it has taken me so long to write this.  I can't believe it has been a whole year since we were in the hospital waiting to find out if we were going to have a baby boy or baby girl.  We were so blessed when William Matheson Bryson was born early in the morning on April 18th.
Will has really grown up in this last month.  He doesn't look much like a baby anymore.  Matt really wants me to cut Will's hair but I just can't do it.  I feel like he will look too much like a big boy if we cut it.  I told Matt that we can cut Will's hair when Will's friend Jeremiah gets his first haircut.  As you will see later in this post, Jeremiah isn't going to need a haircut for a very long time. :)  I have a feeling Will isn't going to be able to wait quite that long.
Will's new trick this month is walking.  This picture was taken a week ago and he is already walking so much better.  He is definitely doing more walking than crawling now.  Yesterday Will was in the living room with us and he got up and walked down the hall and into his room.  Such a big boy.
As you can see, Will's monthly pictures have gotten a little more challenging.  He would rather stand then sit.  Speaking of standing...this another one of Will's new tricks.

I guess we need to start using the highchair straps. :)  Will even showed off this trick in a restaurant recently.  As you can also see from this picture, Will loves to smear food in his hair.  He is a good eater and still likes many foods.  He has also started letting me know if he doesn't want something by shaking  his head.  It really is cute.  If I go ahead and give him the food he is shaking his head at he promptly gives it to Jake on the floor.  Such a stinker.

I ended up taking Will's birthday off from work so he and Sophia and I spent the morning at home.  I had planned on us going on some sort of outing but Will had other plans and took a three hour nap instead.  When Will woke up he tried on his birthday onesie.  I would say that he approved of it.
After the nap we went to lunch with Lori and Kristen and then did a little bit of shopping.  Later in the day Sophia and I had hair appointments.   Will isn't exactly a sit in the hair salon kind of guys so he went and played with his friends at daycare for a little while.  We had to get a few pictures with his best buddy Jeremiah.
I guess the day wore our little man out because he fell fast asleep on the way home.
A little bit of dinner perked Will right up and after dinner it was time for a cupcake.  Sophia also picked out a couple of balloons for Will and they were a huge hit.
He was a little slow to start eating but pretty soon he was digging right in.
Sophia enjoyed a cupcake too.
After a good bath it was time for Will to open some presents.  I had been saving the gifts that he received in the mail so it was a fun opening party.  Will's face in this first picture makes me laugh.
Sophia was an excellent helper.
The wooden airplane set from the Mayo family has been a huge hit with both Sophia and Will.
Daddy had to make sure he got Will a Tennessee pillow pet.
Cute shoes from Grandma Pam and Grandpa Lawrence.
My attempts at a picture of Sophia and Will together.
Will loves his Smokey.
It was a really fun day and I am glad that I got to spend it with my little man.  We will do a little more celebrating Saturday evening when Matt's parents and brother as well as my brother and his family are all here visiting.

Will, Daddy and I love you so much!!  Happy Birthday!

The Last Month

I had a couple of pictures on my camera from the last month I thought I should share.

Took these pictures of the kids one morning before church.
My two cuties.
Sophia's preschool celebrated Dads in February.  They had a special Saturday class where they sang songs, read stories, showed the Dads around the classroom, ate snacks, and planted a flower in the Dads' old shoes.  Sophia was very excited for this day and they had a great time.
I was pretty sick on my birthday so there aren't any pictures of me that day.  Jenni didn't let our birthday banner tradition die just because we moved.
Like I said, I don't have many pictures but Matt and the kids did fun things for me throughout the day, gave me gifts, and made me a birthday dinner.  Jenni left these gifts with the birthday banner.
Matt's Uncle Mark and Uncle Eric came to visit in February too.  It was fun to go to dinner with them and catch up.
Just hanging out and playing in their pjs.
Sophia has been making me laugh with all the crazy things she says.  She loves to make up stories.  Her favorites are "spooky" stories.  She also loves to sing and make up songs.  She made up a great hiking song on Saturday during the hike we did with her preschool class.  Here are a few of the cute things she has said lately:
-While getting ready for church one morning I asked her if she wanted me to straighten her hair.  She went running from the room yelling no.  Matt asked her if she wanted to look beautiful for Jesus.  She yelled back, "Jesus is always with us."  Hmmm...true. :)  She went on to tell Matt that there must be hundreds of "Jesuses" if he was with everyone all the time.  This girl is one smart cookie.
-While we were praying before dinner the other night Sophia said, "Thank you God for happy food that gives us good energy."  So cute!
-She told me that she wanted Matt to take the stabilizers off her bike.  I finally figured out that the stabilizers were her training wheels.  I told her I wasn't sure if she was ready for that quite yet and that it would be hard to ride without them.  She said, "I know, I will just have to keep practicing and practicing."  I guess you can't really argue with that.

Sophia brought home the classroom bunny (Hopper) last weekend.  He is the bunny on the left.  When she brought him home she got all of her bunnies out so she could take pictures of them together.

When she brought home the class teddy bears in December I took a picture of her sleeping with them.  She wanted me to do this with Hopper too but she didn't want me to wait until she was really asleep so this is her posed sleeping picture. :)
Hopper traveled with us to Oklahoma.  It was his first plane ride.  I didn't even take my big camera on our trip. I was traveling alone with both kids and didn't feel like dragging it along.  I took all my pictures on my phone.  I will have to download them to share soon.

Not sure when these pictures are from and it I even took them. Silly Sophia.
We are definitely getting settled and loving our new house.  Maybe someday I will get some pictures posted.  Right now I am enjoying coming home from work and taking walks with the family while we explore our neighborhood.

11 Months

11 month old...say it isn't so!!!  I can't believe my baby is one month away from being a year old.  I am just not ready for that.  Will is supposed to stay a baby forever. :)  Unfortunately this guy has different plans.  This is evident by his new trick...standing alone.
He actually started this trick a couple of days after he turned 11 months but I was a little late with this post since he turned 11 months on the 18th.  He was pulling himself up to things and then standing on his own until yesterday when he started standing up on his own in the middle of the room.  Such a big boy.

Will has eight teeth now and with all the drooling he has been doing lately I have a feeling there are more on the way.  Will still loves to eat and he will try just about anything we are eating.  His favorites seem to be any kid of carb or cheese. :)  Luckily he is also a big fan of fruits and vegetables too.

My last post was Will's 10 month post (I haven't been a very good blogger lately) and at that time Will had been pretty sick.  Unfortunately he still has a cough hanging on that he just can't kick.  Luckily the cough is the only thing holding on and he has been much better the last few weeks.

Will adores his sister and they have been playing more together lately.  She loves to show him new things.  It makes me happy to see them play together.
Just a few more recent pictures.  This kid gets away with a lot because he flashes me this adorable smile and I can't help but smile back.  He is an ornery little guy and always seems to be getting into something he isn't supposed to get into.  He is definitely all boy.
Will loves Jake but Jake doesn't really feel the same way about Will.  Jake is probably glad there is a window between the two of them here.
Love it!!
