Green Beans...Yummy!

I am very sad that our four day weekend is coming to an end. It was great to be able to spend four whole days with Sophia and to have Matt home for three of those days. We had some wonderful family time.

Sophia wasn't quite herself this weekend and I am wondering if she is going to start teething soon. She slept a lot and was drooling like crazy all weekend. I felt around in her mouth and looked around as much as I could but I haven't felt or seen anything yet.

Sophia rolling around on the floor this morning. That is Matt's leg in the background guarding her from rolling into the coffee table.
We decided to try giving Sophia some green beans this morning.

She seemed to like them more than her rice cereal. They were a little messy but I was happy to see ate them without any problem. I was surprised that she liked them after she turned up her nose to mashed potatoes and whipped cream on Thanksgiving. After this feeding we did decide that we probably need to move Sophia's highchair away from the white curtains.

In this pictures she was watching me dance and sing to Beyonce. I should have taken a video because she was kicking her legs all around while I was dancing.

Did any of you see the Beyonce special on tv Thanksgiving night? It was amazing. Sophia and I have already watched it twice and we plan on watching it many more times. Matt, whatever you do do not erase it from the DVR...please. :)

Madison's Third Birthday

Madison is the daughter of our friends Trever and Liz. We drove out to Chandler on Saturday to help her celebrate her third birthday. The same kids are invited each year and it is really fun to see how much they grow up year after year. Last year there were two of us at the party who were pregnant. This year we had the babies and it was fun to compare stories.

This is what Madison would do when you asked her to smile.

We got her the books Birdie's Big-Girl Shoes and Ladybug Girl.

Sophia was more excited about the plates.

This is the other little sweetie who was at the party. Sophia was due a week after Ashley but was born a month before her. This little one is only six months old but was crawling all over the place.

Cake time.

After the party John, Jen, and Audrey came over to hang out for a little while. Audrey was thrilled to play with Sophia.

We were cracking up because Audrey got out all of Sophia's toys for Sophia to play with. I guess she didn't want her to get bored.

Friday

Last month I saw this picture of Jillian. I loved the shirt she was wearing so I asked my sister where she got it. She said she had gotten it at Target for Jillian to wear in her 6 month pictures. She said that she had gotten it in a size that fit her right then but that she was going to grow out of it soon and she would send it my way.
I was excited when the outfit came in the mail last week. Sophia wore it for the first time today.

I think she looks adorable in it. Sophia says thanks to her Auntie Amber for sending it.

Matt's Uncle Eric and Uncle Mark are in town this week. This morning they came over for a visit. It was their first time meeting Sophia.

After Sophia showed off for them for a little while we went to lunch at The Parlor. Sophia was a big girl and sat in the high chair while we ate.

When we got home Sophia and Matt took naps. Matt fell asleep where he had been playing with Sophia.

After everyone woke up from their naps we made a trip to Costco. When we got home Matt fixed the dinner we were originally going to have on Thanksgiving.

When we went out tonight Sophia actually wore shoes. This was a first for her. All of her shoes had been too big for her before now. Also, like I said before she is always really warm so I felt like shoes would just make her hot. It was getting cooler when we were out tonight so I thought I would try them. She looked like a big girl in her shoes.

7 Months Old on Thanksgiving

Here is Sophia's seven month picture. I love that she is wearing a 1st Thanksgiving outfit in this picture. This outfit has a special past. You might remember that Sophia was born on her cousin Hadley's 2nd birthday. This outfit was a hand me down from Hadley who also wore it on her 1st Thanksgiving.
Hadley was small like Sophia as this is a 3 month outfit.

Last Thanksgiving Brylee wore a similar outfit.

Amber said that Jillian wore an outfit like Sophia's just in a bigger size. I can't wait to see a picture.

This is what Sophia looked like after I had taken quite a few pictures of her.

After relaxing at the house for the morning we headed to Bass Pro Shop so Matt could look for some hunting boots and Sophia could see Santa. Here is her first picture with Santa. I took her out of her 1st Thanksgiving outfit for the picture.

Now before anyone says anything, I realize that Sophia does not have any shoes or socks on. This doesn't make for a very Christmas like picture, but it was 85 degrees outside and Sophia is very warm blooded and always seems to be sweating. She is going to see a couple more Santas before Christmas so I will have to remember to dress her in winter attire next time.

After seeing Santa Sophia got back into her Thanksgiving outfit.

When I posted Thanksgiving morning our plans were to stay at home for dinner. At the last minute our plans changed and we went over to John and Jen's house for dinner. They called us to say that John's Dad and Step-mother had to cancel so they had extra food and wondered if we wanted to join them. We found out when we got there that John's Dad was in the hospital because he had his appendix removed the night before.

Audrey is fascinated with Sophia and couldn't wait to hold her.

The problem was that Audrey couldn't keep her hands off of Sophia's head and face.

Sophia wasn't too sure about this kiss.

Sophia liked the sticker Audrey had on her shirt.

We had a nice relaxing Thanksgiving just like we had hoped for even though our plans changed. Thanks for the Ruby family for hosting us for dinner.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Not only is it Thanksgiving, but it is also Sophia's seven month birthday. We are so thankful that our little nugget is happy and healthy. We don't have any big plans this year. We had a few invitations to go to friends' homes for dinner but we decided to just celebrate with our little family this year. We are going to cook a Thanksgiving dinner but we are skipping the big turkey. We will be feasting on chicken instead. I will be back later with pictures from our day.

Here are a couple pictures of our morning so far.

First time in her bath seat.

We wish you all a safe and happy holiday!

Another Sunday Dinner

Sunday night Sophia and I did what we do every Sunday night, went to dinner at Wendy and Jim's house. Sophia and I usually pick Sydney up from her volunteer job at Phoenix Children's Hospital and then head to the house for dinner. Jim kids are there every other week. Jim always cooks up something great and this week was no exception. We had delicious lasagna. We always take home leftovers for Matt since he works Sundays.

As you can see Sophia has a blast with Sydney and Wendy.
I have been trying to get a good video of Sophia laughing for awhile now. It seems like every time I get my camera out to take a video she quits laughing. Sunday I finally caught it on video with some help from Sydney. The funny thing is that Sophia would laugh really hard and then she would start to cry. It was hilarious. That is why at the end of the video Wendy is telling Sydney to stop before Sophia starts to cry.

Thanks Wendy, Jim, and Sydney for having us over every Sunday. We appreciate you letting us be a part of your family once a week.

I had to include this picture of Sophia at daycare today. It made me laugh when I saw it on the camera. What a big girl she is becoming.

I miss my family!

If you want to see some great pictures of my brother and his family go here. The pictures made me want to fly right home and scoop up Brennen and Brylee. They are just the cutest things. The photographer, Laura, is one of my sister's good friends. She is the one who is going to take pictures of Sophia and all of her cousins when we are home for Christmas. Laura also designed Sophia's birth announcements. Laura, the pictures are great. I was just wondering if you had to bribe Brennen to sit still and smile. :)
